College and Career Center
The College and Career Center is a valuable resource for our students and their families. Located right next to the NHS Counseling Office, it offers many tools and guides to assist students in researching their colleges and career choices. The College and Career Center staff, Mrs. Mendes and Mrs. Morgenstern, are here to assist students with that planning. Students can come in to the center to use the college guide books as well as computers that are available for online searches and information about schools. Students can make use of the SAT and ACT test prep materials and review books as well as AP study guides and materials. The College and Career Center offers resources about opportunities in the military, summer programs, gap year programs, and study abroad programs.

The College and Career Center is also a great resource for scholarship information. Local, state, and regional scholarships are posted and shared with students via Naviance and The College and Career Center Padlet. Each location identifies and lists the current scholarships available to Newtown High School students and how they can apply for them. All questions about scholarships can be directed to Mrs. Morgenstern. Links to scholarships can be found both on Naviance and through the College and Career Center Padlet, whose link is in the Information section on this webpage.

The College and Career Center also shares updates about community volunteer opportunities, college planning news, available job opportunities, and summer programs . A monthly Community Newsletter is sent out containing updates on volunteer opportunities that have been made available to Newtown High School Students.
